    Transfer/PPT Inquiry

Kind of a long story, but I will try and keep it brief. A buddy of mine's uncle had to turn in all of his guns to the local sheriff's office because of restraining order/DV case/similar. The SO released the guns to the guy's sister, aka, my buddy's mother. She wants to get rid of them, how does she do so? PPT? Sell them to a dealer? Is it even possible for her to do so, since some of them are handguns that are not registered to her?

    Thanks in advance.

The question is are they hers to dispose of? If the uncle no longer lays claim to them and/or he authorizes the sale, just have her PPT them.
www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.

It is my understanding that he is not laying claim to the guns.

Thanks for the quick response, 10%.

A mother can give her son any and all Long Guns (shot guns/rifles) without any paperwork at all. (no fees either) There is no registration of LongGuns in California.

On the handguns, just have the SON fill out this form and send in one payment of $19 (for one or more handguns)

Under ACQUIRED FROM have him write his mom's name.

Under HOW POSSESSION WAS OBTAINED..have him write:

        Gift from mother.

No FFL required, no 10 day wait required BUT have the SON get a HSC Card before doing this transfer. (just to be legal)

This is assuming both parties live in California. If Mom was OUT OF STATE then you must (by Federal Law) use an FFL and do the 10 day wait thing.

        Be well, Bob

                $35 for the DROS.

It doesn't matter if you're selling or gifting. The price is $35 flat rate.

                Bring ID

the COUSIN brings his Drivers License and Car Registration (two forms of ID that proves his address for the buyer)

And he brings his HSC card..

                $35 cash.

Ordinarily, the person receiving the gun will pay the $35 fee, but depending on the situation something else can be agreed upon.

How does one go about transferring multiple handguns via PPT? $35 per handgun, or can you run multiple on one transfer?

$25 for the first DROS then $19 for each thereafter done at the same time.

The dealer could charge you an additional $10 for each.
