It was a nightmare.
Not the injury... the California Worker's comp system, and the fact that you'll never work again in this state if you ever file a claim for a back injury.
She's 55 now and on SSI disability. She has a court order providing for lifetime medical care for issues related to the injury, but she ends up having to have a QME just to get a painkiller prescription refilled.
Ya... let's waste 4 or more man-hours of labor time to save $100 on drugs that they know are going to be approved anyways.

And we will drive, rather than fly, if the trip is less than 2000 miles each way and remains inside the US. We used to grab a Southwest flight from Ontario to Vegas just to spend a day or two there, but TSA has gotten so out of control that we aren't even going to try.
Haven't flown anywhere since Cabo in 2005 for Sammy Hagar's birthday party.
