Could CGN or CGF Buy Land For.........

I was wondering if through donations, fundraising and raffles, funds could be raised to acquire property.. Could the land be used for the purpose of education, SAFETY, camping and sporting events ( shooting, fishing etc )

Where members could gather to target shoot, camp or events...Since the land would stay undeveloped, property taxes would be minimal and if development was to take place..I'm sure they are enough trades and skilled members here to donate time & materials

Centralized in CA for North & South convenience...........what about property outside of CA..like in Nevada where we could used STANDARD mags and equipment like the reast of the country uses.

Is this thought too far fetched??

Liability might make it not worth the hassle. Like the idea though.

I can just see the government trying to shut it down because they think it is for training a militia (or probably they would use the term terrorists).

I think it makes more sense for CGF to stay focused on what they're doing - if you want to set up a nonprofit gun club/range, then do that. People who want to participate in both can do both - people who want to belong to a range without getting involved in politics can do that, people who care about the legal/political side but don't want to or can't use the range won't have to pay for it.

If I thought that money I sent to CGF was going to fund purchase/development of a range I'd never use, it sure would put a damper on my donations. Obviously it'd be great if they wanted to fund something 10 mins from my house - but I can't really expect the rest of you guys to pay for that, right?

I'm not saying the idea of a range/shooting land is bad, just that it's better for CGF to stay focused on what they're doing, and let other people who want to work on a range/shooting project work on that separately.
