I just seen saw a Concord PD Officer down at Todos Santos Plaza with a Kimber Raptor on his side. Not your usual issued side arm. I guess they can carry what they want. How does that work. Just curious.

Thank you for correcting me. I'm so ashamed of myself.Comment

He was wearing his regular blues and riding a mountain bike.

Haven't noticed this locally, but a month ago at Sea-Tac airport noticed the port authority folks carrying different guns. Two of them had 1911's, and one had a Sig. I remember thinking it curious there wasn't consistency among officers of the same agency.Comment

in the city i work our pd has a pretty broad list of sidearms they can carry.....which has luckily carried over to us as arson investigators. 1911's. sig, glock, springfield xd........si vis pacem para bellvmComment

I know some folks there, and have asked about it. The Department allows for a broad choice of "1911 type" firearms which the officer must purchase on his/her own if they qualify and take some kind of course to famaliarize themselves with the platform.Comment
