    Does anyone shoot at night?

Hi there, I was talking with my friend last weekend, he is a member of West End gun club (open 24/7), he want me to help him make a target stand with LED lighting. I am in the LED business myself, I sell LED safe light on the commercial sales section. I just want to know is my friend just weird for shooting at night or is there a market for such target stand, cause if yes, I guess I will make a couple prototype. Thanks for your help.

CSC holds night handgun tactical shoots in the non summer months..

im thinking you would have to put alot of impact resisten acrylic over the lights to stop frags from destroying the lights.

its lots of fun but the problem is most places its unsafe and illegal but im also a member of a 24/7 outdoor range and i prefer to shoot at night vs during the day. as far as a market for your targets. i wouldnt buy one unless they were super cheap. the odds of hitting the lights would be to good for me to want to spend a bunch of money on it
you can have my gun when you pry it from my cold dead hand!

He wanted me to make a LED target stand for paper target, with the light in the front (near ground) lighting up the paper target on top. He want it to be just bright enough to see, but not too bright. So the amount of LED shouldn't be too much, it won't cost much more than a standard target stand, maybe about 20% more in price.

That could be cool for long range shooting, but when I go shooting at night I enjoy having dark targets and using my carbine/pistol mounted lights to acquire targets. Then again, I go out to the middle of the desert around abandoned mines and my friends and I setup "walkthroughs" amongst the abandoned buildings and surrounding rocks. Lots o' fun!

It seems like it would be cheaper to just get a cheap construction light or something, put it on the ground and find some way to power it.

Something constructed with LEDs and designed to use batteries would probably be more efficient, though.

Oak Tree Gun Club has nights where they turn the lights off at the steel range.
