    Warsaw length stock for AKs...

Just wondering what the purpose of Warsaw length stocks for AKs. Thick heavy winter coats???

I prefer warsaw length to nato, but im a nose to charging handle style shooter. I believe they were made because of thicker clothing, or smaller people. How are the kids supposed to fire it if the stock is way too long.

I suspect it is due to the fact Russian solders were on average a bit shorter than Americans (so probably slightly shorter arms), combined with thicker winter clothing.

Thicker coats or smaller shooters. Either way, I hate Warsaw length fixed stocks. They always hurt my cheek.

I'm 6'1" and I think the Warsaw length stock is about right. I like my nose right up next to the receiver though. I shoot my AR with the stock on 2 clicks out.

I can't stand the Warsaw length buttstock on mine. I'm 6'2" and can barely keep my cheek on the stock. The natural cheek weld is almost on the damn receiver. Which puts the rear sight right up in my face. Which makes it hard to get a decent sight picture because the rear sight is so blurry.

At least that's what I blame my sub-standard shooting on with that gun.

I thought I would like the NATO length better, but with that length, my cheek sits right on the hump of the stock and the recoil hurts my face.

With the Warsaw length stock, my cheek sits farther forward, in the "saddle" between the rear trunion and the face-hurting hump. Feels good when the gun goes off.
