Winchester Ranger/model 94 price question

Do you guys think the value of Winchester Model 94 rifles will increase now that Winchester is going out of business? We have a couple at my store and my manager was thinking about picking one up in .45 Colt, but he wanted me to ask if it'll gain any value or if it won't really matter due to equivalent products from Taurus and Savage.

Ok, I'll bite...

I DO think winchesters will EVENTUALLY go up.
HOW much? Who knows.... if they're really down for good then I'd say quite a bit. If another company steps in and buys up the name/licencing/etc, I'm sure the "originals" will still go up in comparison to the new company's re-makes.....even if it is on the very same equipment. The word is out & people will want the "real" Winchester..

Well, pre 1964 are still considered the most collectible, the ones since then I believe are made by US Repeating arms and not the original Winchester.

Good point(s) and IIRC yo're right about Repeating arms....just kinda means that whoever gets it next (if someone does) it'll then be a 3rd company gun..............

I just dont see them going DOWN in value any time real soon.

RSR (Distributors) sold every Winchester 94 lever action in their inventory, nationwide, in ONE day. Acusport (Distributor) Also sold everything they had in inventory nationwide in a day and a half. The prices will at least spike in the near term. Will they hold? Who knows.

Winchester model 94 lever action rifles are like flies. They made millions of them for close to 100 years. You may not be able to get a new one but there should be plenty of used rifles available.

Well, I wanted to know what my fellow CA gun owners would say, and then what Free America gun owners would say hahaha
I told him that if it goes up in value, it probably won't be a 400% increase..he might be able to find some dummy on gunbroker who'll pay $500, but that's a big if. I told him that if he wants the gun to get it, but if he's trying to make money off of it, to go find something else to invest in, like oil companies haha

I would not want one in 45Lc due to the feeding problems I've sen them have and I can almost assure you soneone else will acquire the Winchester name and produce 94's again.

Heard today from a gunshop owner that the model 94's, model 70's and Shotguns are going to be manufactured in Russia now. Fellow has the credentials to be reliable and with other companies flocking to Russian manufacturing I wouldn't be the least bit surprised. If my Baikal Shotgun is any indication, they may not be pretty but they'll be hell for stout.
