    Orange County

I live in OC and i have recently made shooting my new hobby.
Can anyone give me a few ideas where there are some local legal shooting spots?

    me and my buddy
s are planning a camping/shooting/riding trip in the next couple of days and id like it to be legal.

Any hints or tips would be helpful.

    Thanks

It's real simple. There are NO legal shooting areas in OC outside of indoor ranges. Have said that, you can shoot at private ranges in RS, Chino etc. Any legal unsupervised ranges (e.g. Big bear area, open desert etc. will ALL be 2-3 hrs. away.) Personally, I like Burro Canyon (rent a private range if you can afford it) That's about as "unsupervised" as you will find in a range.

        Damn that's no good.

So Barstow is out of the question? I've seen numerous youtube videos of people shooting off Hodge and Wild Wash Road.

I've been riding there my whole life and i remember always seeing bullet casings so i figured its either legal or unenforced.

Ill have to look into that BLM Map

Barstow and those other roads are not in Orange County.

There are places out that way you can shoot, just make sure you're in the right place.

Haha i guess i should of clarified. "are there any places Around OC where i can shoot"

so what would the consequences be if caught shooting out in the desert where your not technically supposed to be shooting?

would it be serious enough to get my guns taken away or even face jail time?

or would it be more like a "hey you cant shoot here, pack it up and go home" type of situation.

(this would be in a very secluded rural area facing no major roads or people)

Plenty of Indoor ranges you can choose from. Outdoor ranges you'll have to drive a little bit, but nothing really "out of the way."

                762.D3A7H-

i'm really not a fan of indoor ranges. I like being out in the open, i like to bring my long rifles along as well.

plus i make my own metal targets at the shop i work at. they are much more convenient than changing out the paper ones every couple of mags.
