My meager collection!

Well I posted a pic 2 years ago of my collection. At that time it was a Saiga .223, Ruger P-95, and Ruger 10/22. I have cut one and added two!


List:

CMP M1 Garand Field Grade (springfield 1942). Battle Sighted! I had a pic of it with 440 rounds on clips... but forgot to put card in camera before putting all the clips away. Needless to say I love the cmp!

JC Higgins Model 20 12G (read: High Standard model 200) mid 1950's production

Ruger 10/22 (from 76' when they used all metal parts!) dialed in at 50 yards for ultimate squirrel effectiveness.

I really like that shotgun! I've been toying with picking up something like this, my local shop has a bunch of old 50's and 60's pump guns on a bargain rack. They usually have that adjustable choke thing on them, too! How does it shoot?

I really like that shotgun! I've been toying with picking up something like this, my local shop has a bunch of old 50's and 60's pump guns on a bargain rack. They usually have that adjustable choke thing on them, too! How does it shoot?

Haven't gotten it out to stretch its legs yet, but I did shoot a few shells at a friends house (like 15 yards away). The pump is REALLY smooth and it feels straight indestructible.

excellent question... probably a reloading press to keep shooting the M1! lol. Maybe an AK-74, or a larger caliber bolt action (pretty opposite choices eh) or maybe a lever action... good lord idk.

I can't get rid of mine, I bought 7 firearms in 2 months, ordered two more (Ruger 45c & a AR lower) yesterday, & waiting for a Marlin 1894c to become available.

Question to the OP? Why did you get rid of the Saiga 223? To pay for the Garand?

to a certain degree I have gun A.D.D The ones currently in my collection will never leave for various reasons, they are sentimental to me. The Saiga was an excellent rifle, but I felt the urge to move on from the 223 round, so I traded it to a friend for an SKS plus 800 rounds. Then after a few months I sold this huge SKS package and the money paid for a CMP Garand and a case of ammo. I have since bought multiple cases of ammo and am thoroughly infected by the M1 Garand battlesights disease! Plus this M1 served in WWII so I will NEVER get rid of it.


The shotgun was actually purchased with money left to me from my grandparents when they passed and I will be getting their names and DOD engraved on it. So even though its nothing special it will be to me!

The pistol was my first handgun ever (currently my only still) so it's never leaving.

And the 10/22 was bought by my father when he was in college and he recently gave it to me. Also he has a Remington Targetmaster 22 from 1939 that will become mine someday (hopefully a day FAAAAR OFF).

Thats why this simple yet fun collection means so much to me and will forever be the beginning/core of my collection.

Ha yea, and unfortunately this disease requires money like fire needs friggen oxygen. So it may develop quite slowly for awhile!
