    What's up Turners?

I ordered a Walther P22 3 weeks ago at the tale end of the sale. They didn't have any in stock but expected them soon. I put a deposit down to lock in the price. Today they say that the whareshouse hasn't ordered any more and they don't know when they will. What? It seems like they don't want to sell anymore at the sale price or something. I saw one at the Crossroads gun show for the same price - but I couldn't pick it up 'cause I had the depost at Turners.

The guy wasn't apologetic or anything.

    Wierd.

... if you put a deposit down aren't they obligated to complete that sale? Perhaps not legally obligated, I'm no lawyer, but if they'd like to maintain a good business they should be ordering you a P22 and apologizing for it not having already come in. Go get your deposit back plus interest, you're not in the habit of giving out money for no reason and no profit.

IMO, overall, Turner's has poor customer relations skills and the majority of people they employ to sell firearms don't know what they are doing.

They're listing the 5" P22 going on sale again this Thursday for $360.

I wonder they've got some new schmucks in sales/marketing because they've really been screwing it up lately. First the full auto debacle at the Raahauges show, then the unsaleable Glocks, and now this week's fun ...

"Beretta CX4 Storm Tactical Pellet Air Rifle"

Only two per store mind you. I expect some people to not read that correctly and tear off to the local Turners only to be greeted with that crack sales staff. They're also showing a Desert Eagle pellet gun.

Waiting for their all airsoft ads coming soon.

What happened at the full auto exhibition at the Raahauges show? I nearly went to that.

I ordered a mossberg 500 last November from Turners, and after the wait was up I went in excited to pick up my new gun. NOPE!!! not there! They then tried to sell me a different shotgun than the one I paid for. They had a laundry list of excuses for why they didn't have it(new computer system, double sold, its at the warehouse, its at another store, blah blah blah.) and I didn't get it for like another week and a half. On top of that, the sales clerks were smarta**es and had a bad attitude. And another thing. When I first bought it, before the waiting period, there was another customer in to pick up his gun, and they didn't have his either. I specifically asked the sales clerk,"my gun will be here after my wait is up right?" half jokingly. He assured me it would be!!! HORRIBLE customer service. I will never shop at Turners again, and I hope everyone reading this will learn from my experience. DONT BUY FROM TURNERS!!! Support the local mom and pop gun stores.

i have complained about Turner's for ages, if anyone do a search you will find MANY MANY 10 pages + threads of people talking about the horrible services at Turners.

That said, I have had MANY MANY bad experience at Turners, 90% of the time when I buy something there I have problems with the staff. Horrible, sarcastic sales reps, egotistical managers who will just slam "their interpretation" of the law in your face repeatedly.

                To sum it up:

                1. Lost 1 rifle I ordered (and paid in full) for 2 month and ended charging me $30 cancellation fee when I wanted my money back. (never started DROS) West Covina Turners

                2. Wouldn't let me do a PPT transfer of a pistol because it's 40 minutes to closing and it "takes 1 hour plus" to do the transfer. Pasadena Turners, I quote the manager on this.

                3. Purchased a revolver with the Turner's cheap lock, I opted to buy a safe instead right after I paid for the lock & wanted to pay the difference and return the lock. Turners' sales employee started a long sarcastic lecture about I have to call the Department of Justice and get an ok from them because on the DROS form it says "lock" and not "safe". Orange Turners

                4. Purchased a 1911 and on day of pick up Turners lost my proof of residence bill and I was told to bring back another. Brought back an electric bill the following day and they said it's not ok because although the bill is addressed to my name, it also addresses my wife's name and since she was the primary account owner, it's not valid as proof of residence. I had to come back again with a different bill showing not only my name and address on the bill but also that I'm the main account holder. Pasadena Turners

                5. Purchased a shotgun, on the day of pick up Turners took 2 hours to look and find my shotgun as they "misplaced" it. Pasadena Turners

                6. Tried to return a handgun lock that was not purchased with a gun DROS and was on an individual receipt, the Turners employee stated to me that all locks purchased can not be returned and it's a store policy. Norwalk Turners

                conclusion??? FCUK TURNERS

I've dealt with the Kearny Mesa Turners on a few separate occasions and they do seem to take a REALLY, REALLY long time to complete the paper work, an hour plus indeed. To add to that, they seem reluctant to do PPT, rude and rather smug.

Now on the other hand, I just recently completed a PPT at the San Marcos Turners and they were polite, professional, knowledgeable and were prompt and timely with the transactions.

What I hate about Turner's is the "know it all and you don't" attitude that the employees there have.......they do have their share of knowledgeable and friendly people - unfortunately, being knowledgeable does not make up for being a jerk.

If you can make it to the Orange store during the day, talk to Fred. He's a good guy, and one of the few I like working with.

I've got a friend working at the same store now too.

My experiences are pretty much limited to the Orange store, and most of them have been good. Maybe I just got lucky.

I've had okay and bad experiences at Turners. They do hire some socially inept knuckleheads who are in desperate need of customer service skills. These blokes don't realize that they're digging a deep grave for their own employer. They'll be asking for their jobs back at Pizza Hut when Turner's lays them off due to slow business. They do get some mentally retarded customers coming in.

They're prices are okay when things go on sale, but nothing really jaw-dropping. They used to have good prices on surplus ammo, and they used to carry a decent selection of milsurp rifles, but that was in the 90's before the internet.

They never have shooting accessories or cleaning supplies that I need in stock. I go back 3 weeks later, and it's still not in stock. Why sell me a rifle that you won't carry rings for??? Ask the guy behind the counter, "I don't know, we haven't had that in stock for months, but we might get some next Wednesday".

Their prices on reloading accessories and components are ridiculous, and it's obvious why the stuff is collecting dust on the shelf for years. HINT: it's reloading gear! We are looking for value! They're really pricing the stuff for people who can't access the internet.

I'll stop by when I notice something on their online consignment list, or if I'm in the area and I want to oogle new metal. The place has been going downhill for years, and I don't want to spend my money there anymore. Things were definitely better in the 90's when they had to compete with places like B&Bs.

Nowadays with a guy like Ade, why buy a gun from Turner's???

Probably the one in Chino Hills. I will shop there and the people are nice, but I will only buy what I see and know will be mine. I would never order a gun through them. What have they said about your deposit?
