I'll be heading up there with a couple friends of mine. Went to the last show and the gun selection was just unbelievable - most of it we can't have in the PRK. I remember drooling at some of the machine guns on display. Hopefully, there will be some XM-193 ammo for sale, as I'm all out. Also, I'll have to see if some rooms are available at the Reno Hilton (had to stay in some trashy hotel last time).

Yea, I think we are going to make it. I need to make reservations pretty quick.

You don't need the COE in Nevada. It's only good at California dealers.

Already made hotel reservations for Fri and Sat nights.

I feel sorry for all you having to get hotels, It's only an hour and 15 minute drive to reno from my apartment here in the lousy PRK. Enough of my gloating, I'm gonna be there most likely on the 18th.

                      Toby,
                      Based in 2 nights (18th & 19th), 2 people
                      The following internet rates are:
Silverlegacy $79.99 per night for 2 people for the 18th and 19th.
Circus Circus is $75.99 per night for 2 people. Both are for 2 queen beds or a single king size bed.
El Dorado is $94.99 friday and $105.99 saturday.
CalNeva has no rooms for those dates. you might want to call them and make sure 877-777-7303
Fitzgeralds Standard room is $68.00 per night. The economy room is $58.00 Friday and $68.00 Saturday. It's 2 blocks south of Silverlegacy on Virginia Street.
Harrahs $125.00 Friday and $165.00 Saturday. I don't suggest Harrahs, as they say it is not gun people friendly.
Reno Hilton has no rooms for those dates

Hope this helps. See you there.

I got a room at the Reno Hilton. Is that where the show is? They had a military retiree rate that couldn't be beat.
                        See y'all there!

This is why it's always good to call. According to the internet, they didn't have rooms available for those dates. Glad you got a room!

I stayed at the Fitz for August show. Not too bad for a reasonable room when everything else was $200+/nite (Hot Aug Nights, jazz fest, etc - lotsa stuff going on around town mid-August).

However, there are No Handguns signs at Fitzgerald's - posted on hotel main entry door on side street (can't remember if casino entry doors on Virginia St. had 'em posted). These are just the red circle + slash + dowdy black revolver image on white background signs. But I assume if you came traipsing in w/rifles it might raise some eyebrows, and this sign means NV CCW isn't welcome.

I've never carried cased rifles into Silver Legacy but don't see those signs on the doors. If you have CCW you should be OK there.

Obviously, the Reno Hilton is gun-friendly So is the Nugget: I've carried multiple cased ARs in typcial Cordura assault weapon bags into Nugget without question, and in fact got a warm welcome from the desk clerk. A year or two ago there was a duck hunting convention, and lotsa rich-appearing old dudes (judging from platinum Rolexes & nice shoes) w/gun cases slung over their shoulders were checking into the Nugget and going up elevator to their rooms.

                              Clearly they mean no revolvers
