Hunter S Thompson would have turned 82 today

While I dont agree with the safety aspect, this is fun to watch.

Happy Birthday to a brilliantly crazy writer! Only Hunter Thompson could be friends with Ted Nugent and John Lennon.

I'll have to toast the day with a nice bourbon for the departed Kentucky gent.

He definitely bought the ticket, but instead he took us for the ride.

Awesome writer. If you have not watched the documentary on him I would highly recommend it.

Apparently the info I read was wrong. He was born in 1937 not 1929 like I had originally read, making him 74 years old if he lived. I normally double check my resources but didnt feel it was necessary coming from the History Channel web page. I wonder what else they have wrong over there.

He was financially successful for an addict and a practicing alcoholic.

Let us toast to animal pleasures, to escapism, to rain on the roof and instant coffee, to unemployment insurance and library cards, to absinthe and good-hearted landlords, to music and warm bodies and contraceptives… and to the 'good life,' whatever it is and wherever it happens to be.
