    Stupid shotgun rack

    I bought one of these:

And my friggin' 870 won't fit in it! It's too fat for the square thingy your barrel goes through. Guess you get what you pay for.

Umm, looks like it's for an O/U or a semi auto with no room for a pump arm, like the picture shows.

This is what mine looks like, wood furniture. I wonder if the newer shotty's synthetic forearms are smaller?

I haven't seen a pump shotgun with a forearm smaller than that.

Well, at least it was only $15, I'm sure we can all say we've made a mistake at some point that's probably cost us more than that.

Can you have someone cut and weld a longer piece to the main body so the square piece moves up the barrel past the pump handle?

Probably, but I should probably get something else now since I bent it. I wanted to see how quick I could get it off the wall. Took less than 10 minutes with a small prybar! Had to fix my wall but it's worth it to know these are pretty much worthless.

i guess the good news is that you've got a decent Remington 870.

Circa 1985 riot gun. Looks better than the pix I posted.

                    Here's one just like mine!

Guess I better keep it in the safe.

If I could only keep one gun, this is the one.

Umm, it's pretty obvious that something like this, or those stack-on gun cabinets aren't meant to replace a safe. They keep(well, I'm still not sure about this rack) kids away from things, not determined burglars with tools.
