    rosamond shooting range closed

just an f.y.i. to all those out here in the antelope valley and to those that come out here to shoot at rattlesnake road. the private property owner finally put up no trespassing signs all around the firing line were people shoot. I guess he got tired of the trash, the houses on the other side of the hill getting shot, and some a**hole lighting the hillside on fire multiple times.

there are other p[laces in the area to shoot but the best place is closed.

    Great.
Flo sez it best: "Happens all the time."
There are $7 Fridays at A Place To Shoot in San Francisquito Canyon for 55 and up.
Used to be open up there for years and years. But not anymore.

I think I'll build a mini range in the garage and tell the neighbors it's my nail gun.

Damn. Houses on the other side getting hit? That's pretty serious.

People use it as a dump, and eventually somebody closes them down.
I'd have to see the "shot houses" before I would buy that line.

Irresponsible people cause problems for all.

For the last year I went to that range once every week and spent hours picking up and cleaning all I could to prevent the owners from closing it down and talked to everyone I could to get them to police there area after they were done but just kept getting laughed at, so now because of the irrisponsible people, all the people who used to go to that range now have to suffer. People I am not a tree hugging liberal idiot, please pick up your trash when you are done at your range so this does not continue to happen..We gun owners all read look bad to the world, lets not add to the bad image, shall we..

There are about half a dozen homes spread across the desert just on the other side of the hill used for a backstop.

The idiots who use their AR and AK rifles to shoot clays are shooting up and over this hill.

I find it very plausible that some of their vehicles may have been dented by falling rounds. And if a few rounds hit the roof of your house while you are in it, you will hear the impact.

I spoke with the land owner. It was a combination of things that drove the closure.

Shooters using tannerite causing fires, others using road flares duct taped to propane bottles, and his mother's house over the hill being hit three times by rounds fired over the hill.

Then there were a couple of times where gang bangers were spotted driving along the firing line practicing drive-by shootings.

I went out there today and scouted around a bit. If instead of making a right to drive down the range make a left and keep driving down the road. There are two spots one on the left side down a rough road about 1/4 mile and the other on the right side not to far down the road. Both are sign free and pretty clean.

That is actually were a friend of mine went and a Kern county sheriff ( very friendly btw) kicked him out. The sheriff basically said that whole area belongs to the same guy and that nobody is allowed to shoot there. Even though the signs don't cover the whole area

Used to play in a great old ghost town as a kid.
                              *Some idiot burned it down.
Used to ride dirt bikes at a groomed track on gov't land.
*Some idiot got hurt and sued the gov't so they closed it down.
Used to smoke like a cowboy.
*Some cry babies didn't like the smell, now they're $5 a pack
Used to fish at the San Gabriel river.
                              * Some dirty pigs now leave their trash and dirty diapers all over the shoreline.
