    Ideas for Gun Safe placement/disguises

I plan on getting a nice safe within the next year probably. Right now I've got a crappy little Sentry Safe that I want to use as a division. I'll keep the crappy safe in place view somewhere, probably in my bedroom closet with a crapp Mosin or something in it. I'm not sure where to put the ACTUAL safe though or how to disguise it. I don't have a garage. I've got a small cellar, but there's only a latch/lock on the door, it would be too easy to get inside and then I'd have no way of hiding the safe, it'd just be in plain view there. Granted, it would be bolted down in a corner. I will probably end up going with that config. I've got an infra-red sensor in the cellar.

I'd love to hear some ideas for security, diversion and hiding a safe.

can you make a false wall inside the cellar? basically put a secondary door that looks like the back wall and put some shelves on it with some random pantry items.

I've seen false walls like this for house safes, you would pull the false wall/door open towards you to access the safe behind it

when you open the first door thief would just see a shallow / small cellar space

Just make sure it isn't visible from any outside windows and you are probably good to go.

If you want to be super-paranoid you can put up a wall with a disguised door in your cellar and put the safe behind that... Being that nobody here knows the layout of your house there isn't anything specific anyone can suggest.

      You could also try this:

Here's what I did to hide my safe. Cost me about $140 in materials.

That's what I'm talking about! I don't have enough closets to do something exactly like that, but it's really awesome. I'm going to try to incorporate something like that.

I purchased one of those hospital privacy curtains that hang from a ceiling track. It works fairly well.
