Here's what a $46 lock looks like. Yeah, I meant $46, don't know why I put down 56. Notice that neat little "no refunds on locks" which just reinforces my belief they force you to buy it on purpose.

And the master lock is my own.

    ---------

Any way I'll be contacting the CA DOJ to see what I can do about it, and resolving it in person with the owner first if possible.

I got my lock that looks almost like that but for under 6 bucks over at second amendment sports besides with masterlocks they are easy to break into

I get all my locks free. I walk into the local police department and get one or two. I make sure they give me a business card with the amount of locks I picked up and the name of the person who gave me the locks and of course dated.

They have boxes and boxes of those child safe locks as I bet most LEA's do.

Next time just call up a local LEA and ask if they have them.

Just to clarify, the master lock is mine, that was $6.

The receipt for $46 is that big blocky trigger lock, and some other part they made me buy with it.

So you got us worked up over that.

and some other part they made me buy with it.
And now you have to explain this.

And while this is going on, people are starting to wonder about anything that comes off your keyboard.

Am I missing something? Is there money in starting threads about outrageous FFL's? If there is, we need a sticky.

The other part that they made me buy is actually also in that first picture provided.

The point is that I was forced to buy a ridiculously expensive lock, when I already provided my own.

Let me guess, a Henry 22cal lever action rifle?
Unless another has gotten added to the list this combination of locks were the only DOJ approved lock for these rifles.
The Prolok GL650 with the GL675 locking bar. It does seem like a little expensive for the pair though.

Yeah you cant use the 7 dollar lock to lock that rifle but they did bend you over on the price. Usually the locking bar is just fine.

It does appear the set is required Maybe about $10 too steep, but....

Another good reason to buy a safe. No more locks on long guns.

Gezzz....you guys are getting royally screwed by your gun stores. I don't know how this crap gets legislated in Sacramento? DOJ approved lock....for $56..

Move to Arizona where when you buy a gun....you get a free lock.

You still need a lock when you pick the gun up per state law.

Well, if anything, now I've got a really heavy and expensive lock to throw at an intruder.

Should get a safe anyway, might as well take advantage of it.

Last gun I picked up at Ammo Bros I had an order. The receipt DID NOT say DOJ approved, but the lock did. I had to beg and plead to just copy the back of the lock with DOJ approved to get my gun. I WILL NOT pay a gun store for a lock.
