    Gridley range storage containers robbed

The Gridley shooting club's storage containers were broken into this week and nearly all of their range equipment was stolen. Additionally, the Gridley-Biggs PD & Marysville PD storage containers were also broken into, but it's not yet known what was taken from those.

This is what the Gridley club lost:

    (3) Large Pepper poppers [$750 @ $250 each]

    (2) Small Pepper poppers w/stands [$300 @ $150 ea]

    (1) Round-top popper w/stands [$100]

    (9) Plate stands [target stand-type] [$180 @ $20ea]

    (46) IDPA target stands [$1200 @ $25ea]

    (4) PACT Timers [$500 @ $125ea]

    (1) tool box w/assorted hand tools [$50]

    (15) cans spray paint [$40]

    (1) bag 100-ct 1st Place pins [$300]

    (1) bag 100-ct 3rd Place pins [$300]

If you hear of anyone in Northern California trying to sell used range-type equipment, please let the Gridley president know (clubpresident_45@yahoo.com).

    Thanks!

      sickening

how many locks were on the container

i had one broken into and i learned the hard way that if you have 2 locks put them both on the right door cause you cant open the left one without the right being opened so they only need to cut one lock to get it but then i guess you are replacing 2 locks or the latches the locks go through which are easier to attack

I think this maybe a "Hate Crime"...........(why else take the ribbons?? - to inflict maximum economic hardship?)

As to the value of the product - hopefully the thieves will send out a lot of feelers to secure the best price and a little bird will tweet.

Burglary Vs Robbery: What’s the Difference?

Ever been stumped on the burglary vs robbery question? For us non-lawyers, it’s easy to assume that both terms describe the theft of property – a common misconception. Although words like robbery and burglary are used interchangeably among laypeople, there are several legal differences between the two crimes.

                    What is Burglary?

Burglary occurs when an individual enters a structure with the intent to commit a crime. That crime does not have to be theft, necessarily. A burglar could enter a home for the purpose of vandalizing its interior or destroying the property within. He or she does not have to take anything from the home in order to commit burglary.

Likewise, a burglar might break into a home for the purpose of harming someone inside. Although the burglar may leave without stealing anything, he or she still entered the residence, in the absence of permission, intending to break the law.

Generally speaking, a victim need not actually be present for burglary to occur. Robbery, on the other hand, requires that a victim be present. While it is possible for a burglar to commit robbery once he or she has entered a structure, that could only occur after the structure has already been burglarized.

                    What is Robbery?

If you are ever robbed, you will probably know it immediately. Herein lies the difference between burglary versus robbery. A robber is one who commits theft either through violence or the threat of violence. Unlike a burglar, a robber does not have to enter a structure unlawfully in order to commit an intended offense. Robbers might steal from you in the street, for example.

One also doesn’t have to be wielding a dangerous weapon in order to commit robbery. A robber who shows a gun or knife to a victim is committing armed robbery, of course, but even a verbal threat of violence could be enough to warrant a robbery charge if the perpetrator is apprehended.

As you can see, the robbery vs burglary debate hinges on a basic misunderstanding about what the two terms mean. Burglary will usually refer to the act of breaking into one’s home or business without permission. Burglars must then either commit a crime or have entered intending to commit one. Robbery, however, means somebody has threatened or harmed you in order to steal some of your property.

Each crime is serious, and you will want to protect yourself from both. Now you can finally hold your own – and share some insight – whenever the burglary vs robbery question rears its head.

Well if a con man says "this stuff is worth $$ & I'll give you 60% off", an honest person might question the price.

                        Hope the thieves get caught.
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

I run a machine shop so I have a lot of extra tools. If you PM me what was in the tool box and taken, I can rumage through my shop and most likely come up with replacements for all of it.

I sincerly hope that the thieves are not members of Calguns... Id like to think most of the members have more integrity than that, sadly I am not that optimistic anymore.

If that is the range on the east side of the river just south of the E. Gridley Rd. bridge, it is about 5-6 miles from here as the crow flies. I will certainly keep my eyes and ears open. I hate thieves.

I also have an abundance of hand tools, and can probably help with replacements if you let me know what you need.

I work for a local school district and the vandalism/theft has been on the rise over the past couple of months. We have to double-lock sheds and containers and weld up boxes around the locks to prevent using bolt cutters.

Lately, the ba***rds have been stealing the security cameras.
