Gun buyback palo alto on news today

Just watching the news and I see that they are doing another one of those buybacks. The thing that trips me out is I saw a AR pistol with one of those kits that gets rid of the buffer tube and a couple complete ARs one of witch had what looked like an eotec on it.

It just makes me think firearms like that were planted you know who the hell would give away a rifle worth at least 1000 for 100? Has anyone ever heard of these being kind of BSed with planted firearms (for lack of a better word)?

The whole thing had a savage anti gun flavor to it.

I was kind of pissed cause when I was doin my ar pistol build I was lookin for on of those kits, I forget what they are called but they were hard to find expensive and I read one to many threads about how they are problematic. So I just went the traditional route.

Just strikes me as odd that an expensive hard to find kit like that would be in one of those buybacks. Another thing that made me go hmmmmm was they never showed anyone handing over anything actually worth more than 100 bucks.

Someone who stole it, or is fencing it off for another who did. Someone getting rid of a weapon used in a crime.

They announced the gun buy back program on the Friday nite local news. Too bad some enterprising Cal Gunner with money didn't set up a table real close to where they were paying $100 gift certificates for any gun, no questions asked, and offer $150 cash. I wonder how many AR's would have been turned in at their table I know I know, the fictional table would be totally illegal, no FFL, no PPT money sent to the state, no 10 day waiting period for the buyer. Of course if we had an FFLer with the guts and someone with deep pockets........and PPT was done on each hand gun or long gun turned in and of course you could be picky about which hand gun and long gun you'd be purchasing. You could send the garbage over to the officially sponsored table.
