Would you ever buy?

I was a collector for a while. Mausers, enfields, mosins, etc. War time use of them didn't bother me. It was a military firearm and some had probably been used to kill someone. The whole suicide thing is different for me especially since i now know. If I had bought the gun and not known, no big deal unless I found out later. That I know makes it no good. Someones bad memories and used to take their life. Its not collectable but it was a good price. Yes in animate object but bad circumstances surrounding it.Comment

I wouldn't mind... wasn't the gun's decision to shoot.Comment

I have one sitting on my desk right now. The only reason we got it back was th idiot that stole it. blew his brains out. Thank god it was stainless since the cops did not clean the blood off, a litttle gross. I would hate to see what it would have done to a blue gun.Comment

I own one. A friend of the family killed himself with it, his wife (in her 80's) still lives down the street from us.

Hmm. I'm not really sure about this one. A gun used in a suicide is a bit different from a soldier's rifle or a policeman's service sidearm. It's kind of like, would you buy a vehicle that someone died in during an accident? (Assuming the vehicle was still driveable/repairable)
Ultimately, I think I'd treat it like any other inanimate object. If it was a gun that was rare or one I coveted, I might try to buy it. If it were something very common like a Glock or a Smith revolver, then maybe not."Two dead?!? HOW?!?"
