    DROS question

Hi guys I just have a couple questions to ask. I was looking at my DROS just now and I realize there might be some errors.

    1. My DROS says that the firearms quantity is 5 instead of 1. But I didn't buy 5. What should I do?

    2. Is there supposed to be any S/N on the DROS form for long guns/ lowers?

    3. My FFL sent the lower back to the manufacturer due to some defects and what do I have to know about this step? Do I have to re-DROS or something? Could someone please tell me what I should expect?

    Thanks.

No serial number is logged for long guns.
If the manufacturer get the replacement to your FFL and you are able to pick up within 30 days of the start of DROS, you're fine, since no serial number is attached to the DROS.

On the quantity, as long as you're paying $25, it doesn't really matter, but I would ask the FFL about it.

Since my 30 days is going to end soon, may I ask what I should do after 30 days from the start of the DROS? Thanks.

If you are unable to pick up within 30 days, the DOJ cancels the first DROS and the FFL must resubmit.
        2nd $25 and another 10-day wait.

Does the 30 days still apply if it's not because I cannot physically pick it up but because the FFL cannot give it to me on time due to shipping delay?

            Yes.

That is why some (most?) FFLs won't initiate DROS until they have the gun in-hand.
Some will initiate upon confirmation of shipment, and a few will initiate at the time of order (I've done this, but I agreed to pick up the $25 if it went over 30 days).

It's not your fault... I'd see if you can get the manufacturer to cover the $25 since it appears to be their delay.

since this is a long gun dros and serials are not attached to the dros the quanity is meaning less. We actually do that so incase someone wants to pickup more long guns on that day they can its called an "open dros" the serials arent attached untill pickup anyway.

We spoke to the manufacture today and they are going to remake the lower with the same serial number and it should be done by next friday, we shipped it back today. If it deos go over the 30 day window we got the re-dros covered so you have nothing to worry about. We dont start the dros on long guns unless I got shipping confirmation either, and we had confirmation it was gonna be here in time but no way to know the take down pins wouldnt line up, infact we didnt even know about it untill we installed the LPK.
