+1... I dont even carry the extra mag on me half of the time but I always have at least one or two extra mags in my car at all time. I already carry a bunch of craps on me already.

Yes, it does make a huge difference if you are trying to load a pistol with a clip, and not a magazine.

a clip is a device to load a magazine, such as a stripper clip for an SKS.
