    SHOT SHOW CCW?

Do they have screening or metal detector at the door of the Sands Convention Center??
Have any of you carried at the shot show?

I would suspect that SHOT would want to keep their floor in a "sterile" state in that if someone brought in their own loaded weapon, it could result in loading a firearm that's on display... That would be something they'd want to avoid. State law may allow it, but the venue itself probably won't.

Firing pins / strikers on display guns must be removed at SHOT.
The Sands does not want anyone carrying.
Remember that everyone in the crowd at SHOT is familiar with CCW and many will be looking carefully for any sign of it.

Yea, you're not allowed to introduce any weapons onto the Sands. Just enjoy everyone else's guns and leave yours at home.

It all comes down to money most of the time. By not allowing weapons they probably get a lower liability insurance premium.

I hate to laugh at you, but

Seriously, have you been to the SHOT show? The door people there didnt/wouldnt have a clue who was carrying. They just hired for the event basically off the street. I doubt many of the ones i saw and spoke with even owned a gun, let alone knew what it looked like when someone was packing. And those in the crowd that know what to look for are packing themselves! I dont think they would rat anyone off.

Its true that no guns are allowed. However, the last thing they want to do at a gun type event is make a big scene over a gun. Out of sight out of mind. Im not saying you should or should not carry there. I am just correcting your information. You would have to be stupid to get pegged for CCW.

MOST hotels in Vegas along with the malls have a NO firearms policy. We were carting from our room to the car at Circus Circus and were asked to check out.
We couldn't even have them in the car on their property.

Have you stayed at MOST hotels in the strip? I have stayed in about half of them ( I wouldnt stay at Circus Circus cause its too cheesy, but I have been there -carrying the whole time) and have yet to see a no weapons sign on any hotel or have any trouble. That means that your not breaking the rules if you do carry and even still, they will only ask you to put yoru gun away or leave. I dont understand how anyone would be spotted CCW unless they were doing it wrong anyway.

I carry everywhere I go and so does everyone i know who has a permit. Never any issues. I dont tend to take obnoxious looking obvious rifle cases with me however. When i do take a rifle to a hotel, you would need to have xray vision or be a mind reader to know I had one. I dont advertize cause I dont like paying for anything twice. I take it when you said "carting" you stuff in you made it a big obvious deal.

I wouldnt OC on the strip cause they dont want to scare the tourists and you will catch crap.

Moral of the story... Your main reason for carrying a gun is for self defense. Dont show it off. Be smart about it. no reason for anyone to know you have it. If you need to bring a rifle with you, use a guitar case or something else that doesnt scream GUN GUN GUN!

I went CCW, my buddy and several others as well. If you get caught its because your stupid basically. I would suggest a subcompact or pocket gun that doesnt print.
So you're saying it's ok to violate the Convention Center's rules as long as you don't get caught? And also admitting that you've done it... not something I would advertise.

I didnt say anything was "ok". What you do is up to you. I dont believe in victim disarmament zones. Simple as that. Its worth the $25 trespassing ticket risk.

I saw a "No Firearms" sign, I believe it was the Excalibur, MANY years ago....just an FYI.
