    LAX Shooting Range = Great

I love the LAX shooting range, the employees are so helpful. A young gentlemen there named Sean helped me out a lot with my Glock and was very friendly and informative. They really do bend over backwards to help the customer out. Too bad they are not an FFL, I bet they would help the LA area out a lot with OLL.

I called them up to order some stuff, they asked for a deposit and I told them I was not able to drive down there this week, I offered them my word and they sure enough ordered $300+ worth of stuff for me (I drove down there a week later and gave them $100 just to ease their minds). Most likely the best indoor range I have been to yet.

Only problem is the parking situation - but hey, I have to find something to bitch about.

If you live in the area check it out.

Funny that you would enjoy LAX range over Sharpshooter. You must have not run into the owner guy (no, I didn't get yelled at or anything but you could tell that he's an arsehole by the way he treats his customers).

The owners OK. A bit gruff at times, but OK. Most of the guys working there are OK. Some of the clients though...

There was one counter jockey that was so bad I finally called the owner up and complained to him about the guy. The jerk would dry fire people pistols while inspecting them and generally finger f**ked your gear bag. Spent more then my share of time listening to his lectures on the legalities of my gunsmithed pistols. Haven't seen him a long time which is good.

They do have some good bulk ammo deals.

Did they ever get rid of that half-Mongoloid USMC reservist working the counter who kept insisting that everyone coming into the place listen to his imaginary tales of training with Navy SEALs while he dry-fired your guns?

I had to tell him to keep his filthy dickbeaters off my guns once.

Heh. I didn't see your post before I made mine. We must be talking about the same fool. Fat kid with a round head and a flat-top, right?

I went twice a few years ago and had bad experiences both times. The staff were rude and full of BS. The gangbangers both outside and inside the range didn't make it very pleasant either.

Wow - I had a totally difference experience. I socialized with 2 young guys in person who were very helpful. The person that ordered all the stuff for me was the owner I believe.

Glad the employee is gone that used to sit and watch porn on the big screen TV while customers were there. I'm also glad that I never walked in there with my daughter while he had those videos running.

I can't say I've ever had a positive shooting experience at LAX, possibly the most rude employees of any range I've ever been too. Not sure if he's the owner but the taller white guy who is always there is just a jerk. They treat their customers like crap and I have been overcharged because of a "mistake" one to many times. The drive to Oaktree is worth the friendly staff and nicer facilities. LAX=Crap.

I really can't believe what I am hearing - the guys there were more then helpful to me. I purchased a 3.5# connector for my G26 along with some night sights. I asked how hard it was to install the 3.5# (this is before I completely took apart my Glock) and he said "Not hard, I can install it for you right now if you would like." And so he did. Then I asked him about the night sights. He said he would do them for me and he did, I just drove out there and he put them right on. Really nice guy. When he was installing my 3.5# connector I asked, "How much do I owe ya?" and he said, "Don't worry about it". Same with the night sights.

I have only run into 2 employees that work there in person. Both young guys. One is only 19 but knows his stuff. The other is a muscular fellow who wears a Breitling watch some times.

I only had contact with the manager or who ever when I ordered $300+ worth of merchandise and he said he needed a deposit, but I offered him my word and he took it.

Guess they have changed a lot.

I too have had a bad experience. The Japanese American guy was a real jerk when I went there. I used to live rather close so I was wanting that place to work out. That guy has no customer service skills. My first run in with the guy was when I was a student at USC. I rented a Colt Carbine and mistakingly called it an M16. He about chewed my @ss over that faux pas. Back then I knew next to nothing about guns. How about some slack for a new guy? Next time, a few years later, he "aggressively" made me read their safety rules. That was after taking my range bag apart after I had to feed it through their little cubby hole thing they have at the door. Oh, I almost forgot, you'll have to park at the Car Wash next door because their four parkings spaces will be taken up by a guy in an V10 pick up truck with double tired axils. Man, I'm getting pissed thinking about it. I hope the worst for that place.

                              FCUK LAX Range!
