Which upper for my AR pistol build?

Lots of choices but not sure on brand/length/etc. Also I don't want to spend a ton of money on it so no $1k upper nonsense. Anyone have a recommendation for a reasonably priced one? Looking at these:

Have you, by chance, looked in the marketplace to see what guys and dealers are selling? Might find an even better deal.

Yup. Was looking around this AM. Found couple in the $1k range and a few already put together for more so that's why I was hoping something in the $4-500 range. I'll run another search and see what I come up with.

Yeah, I usually see FS ads with 700+k range for pistol uppers...too much to ask for when you can get a AR-pistol for that price.

The only one I can speak about is they Marks upper. Look at what has been said here: Marks upper

I wanted the shortest pistol and that is why I went with this kit. I will know better how it functions after more testing this weekend.

Thanks for the link. Between yours and Vaderspade's experiences it may be that the one from MA needs some tuning. That's not something I'm interested in doing since for me to take it out to test is quite an investment in time since I can't shoot .223 at my local indoor. I know it's only 2 reviews (if there are others I'd be interested in reading them) but I don't want to worry about that or have that type of question on reliability.

I have heard of someone else needing cut down the spring on the Marks upper also. Cost wise the other uppers wil run about the same price once you add a buffer, tube and spring. With a regular pistol buffer there should not be any of these issues that I am experiencing with the Marks upper. The only down side is the regular buffer tubes are a lot longer than the Marks kit. I like to tinker and I am sure I can tune the Marks upper to be 100% reliable but then why should one have too?
