Lubing It Up

Hello all. I'll be picking up a little Savage .22 left-handed bolt-action next week and I've heard that the actions aren't very smooth. Should I partially disassemble it and oil up the bolt or just remove the bolt? Or should I just let the action break in naturally through use? I've read about both being pretty much equally effective with Savage rimfire rifles...
