Just curious about everyone elses experiences with Gun Shops/Sporting goods stores matching anothers price on a gun. Im not talking Bud's or online prices, im talking another store in a drivable distance.
I went to Big 5 a couple days ago to look at the Marlin 795. I asked the salesman helping me if they would match Turners current ADVERTISED price in the flyer of $135. I just didnt want to make the 45 min drive to Turners, and have heard plenty of horror stories about them here on CG. The salesman just said a flat no. He said he could sell it for thier "on sale" price of $160. (Bass pro has this gun for a normal price for $150)
I guess I could have called over a manager or something, but I did not push the issue and just moved on. But to me it's a bit suprising that they won't match another local sporting goods store's ADVERTISED price in this economy. I could understand if a mom and pop gun shop couldent afford to do it because of low margin, but Big 5? Anyone else have similar experiences?
