I read the article twice and I'm still not exactly sure what was purged. Anyone have a better idea?
Possibilities:
1) DMV or CBI database of what guns are in the CCW holders possession (not likely).
2) DMV database that links to a master list of CCW holders.
3) CBI database with a master list of all CO CCW holders.


#2 and #3 are the only ones that fit the quote "better if the permit is not on your license because permit holders can get arrested in another state for carrying a concealed weapon into that state if they are pulled over by law enforcement."

Maybe this is a stupid question but if there is no master database (linked to your license OR not), how does one know that the CCW permit an individual is carrying is "real or not"?

The first time I saw a CA CCW permit, it looked just like a sheet of paper. On the other hand, a TX CCW permit looks like a driver's license.

Hopefully I'm getting it somewhat right, the only reason I know a bit about this is I looked into getting a CO CCW.

In some of or all of the larger counties in CO, if you are a CCW holder they input your name into a large database of criminals in the state. Because you have a CCW they lump you in with all of the violent criminals in the state. It makes no sense and I believe this is what they are talking about.

Very nice, since I will be moving to CO soon and plan on getting my CCW.

Put simply, it will be impossible to access data on who is permitted to CCW in Colorado. Cops won't know before they pull you over. It's a blow to anti-gunners and a plus for gun rights supporters.

It will show up again later on in the future when the government decides to take our guns.
