    Online Vendor HEADACHE !!!

Hopefully this question/issue can be assisted with here. I purchased a Trijicon component from an online vendor called calssportingarmory. The item was received, but after a day of thinking it over, I just decided to return it for a refund. I followed their protocol for refund process... I know their policy is that it may take up to 15 business days to receive the refund payment. After 20 days, I emailed them inquiring.

A full week went by before I even got a response, and it was their claim that a check was issued to me on May 19th and mailed to me. My claim is that I never received it ... It is now about 42 days since they claim the check was issued, I have been emailing them up the wazoo with no responses from their side ! The most frustrating part is that they don't have an active phone line. It is all automated and their primary way of communication is email.

My main question is ... WHAT CAN I DO ??? haha.. I'm so frustrated and meanwhile I am out of $700 which is rightfully mine.

Thoughts anyone? Should I try sending a letter via USPS to see if it gets faster response than email? Should I threaten legal action? Am I entitled to legal action??? Does anyone have any information on a direct contact of the owner/management at this company?

I just want my money back. Being that it has been over 40 days is not only rediculous but unacceptable.

I'm just not sure if they are overwhelmed and cannot support their customer service base? Either way, if you can't run the business properly then don't do it.

    Ok, I'm done venting.

was this charged on a card? contact your service provider, tell them they claim a check was issued and you never received it and you want to dispute charges.

How did you pay? If you paid by credit card have them (cc company) reverse the charges. Some say this is shady, and personally I hate dealing with charge backs at work, but you have given the vendor amply time to resolve the problem. Just be aware the vendor will probably black list you if you are successful in the charge back. Keep all responses you receive and have sent. Their email stating a check was refunded to you actually confirms compliance to their refund policy. This is one of the few reasons your charge back claim could be denied.

Ya the problem is that I paid with USPS M.O. Now i'm kicking myself in the ***. Just sucks not to be able to make any kind of human contact with these jerks. It's all automated on their phone line. Never buying from these guys again, no matter how good their prices are.

BTW, you are pretty much screwed. By paying with a MO, you have little/no recourse when it goes South.

Try sending a letter detailing all the particulars of the entire transaction. Send it Registered mail and get confirmation of receipt.
If still no help find a cheap lawyer to send a letter on his letterhead.
Their web-site shows a phone number and a fax number, have you tried both of those?

                  ** UPDATE **

I emailed them one last time and copied the Attorney General / Consumer Protection Division of Colorado and Penn. on Friday of last week ... Guess what showed up in my mailbox today ? The REFUND CHECK ! I guess if I would have known about using the A.G. as leverage 40 days ago, I would have used that technique. Anyhow, I'm happy now.

Lesson learned : do more thorough research of online vendors, pay with C.C., buy stuff locally if possible.

                  Thanks for the advice guys.
