  • Dad's closet : Terror tactics?

Growing up, I remember my father's closet as a forest of guns. He had an old AK, an SKS, an M16, some sort of shotgun, and a couple other guns I can't recall. Then there was the 4 different .22s. But my favorite was his giant, shiny, nickle-plated 45 Magnum. MMMmmm.
He used to take me shooting, and that thing would almost knock me over every time. We used to buy teddy bears and cabbage patch dolls at the D.I., and then shoot them full of holes.
My favorite was when we went shooting in the winter. My brother and I would make a snowman and put balloons full of red paint inside it. Then when we shot the vital places... wa-la... realistic effects.

Ah... fond memories. I'm so glad I got a big manly-man for a dad.

Now he uses his arsenal to terrorize all my boyfriends. Heh.

one of the best memories a guy can have is to have a discussion with a girl's father with a loaded .38 on the table

I would be too distracted and maybe drooling a little over the .38

Yeah, me too. Just think about marrying a woman for a chance to inherit her father's gun collection.

          +2.

the real test will be how the Dad reacts to the drooling. Would he be madder of he catches you frog-smooching on her daughter or drooling over his guns.....

My dad used to schedule his gun cleanings around times when my sister brought over a new boyfriend. It was fun watching them fumble words with sweat dripping down their faces.

I do the same thing when my step-daughter brings a new boyfriend over.Funny not many have stuck around too long after that

I have a new daughter as well. I heard a little story a while back ... when the new boyfriend comes over just toss a bullet at him (so he can catch it) and then tell him "you mess with my little girl, the next one is coming at you a whole lot faster!"

I CAN'T WAIT TO DO THIS!!!! does that make me evil?

It might scare the nice guys away and have her end up dating only those "tough" enough to stand up to you... like gang bangers/thugs

and why is a "girl" from UT on a california gun forum?

I've found that seeing a shovel and a bag of lime in the back of a girls dads pickup truck sitting in the driveway makes a whole lot bigger impression than any guns he might have 'out for cleaning'

My then future FIL had a chat with me showing me his gun collection & pulled out his Ruger GP100. I said "Oh that's a Ruger GP100, nice gun!!!" And I pulled out my Para P-13-45 (locked & loaded) & told him that "I've got something more fun!"

We've been really good friends since...
