Bad experience with FNH customer service

Short version without rant - does anybody know where I can buy replacement screws for the top rail of an 18" FN SLP?

    And rant...

I bought a brand new FN SLP 18", and after shooting it a few times I came home to discover the screws on the top rail had worked themselves loose and fallen out (this is back in January)

No big deal, right? I call FNH USA, explain the situation, and they tell me they will mail me the replacement screws from their Missouri parts department. "Sometimes we forget to put in loctite at the factory." They estimate it will take about 3 weeks. Not sure why that should take 3 weeks, but I patiently wait.

Nothing shows in ~ 5 weeks, so I call and ask for an update. They have no record of my previous call, and take my info again - same story, should be another 3 weeks.

Nothing shows again, so I call on 3/28, speak with Tom, and he says he'll be sending them out.

Nothing shows again, call back at the end of April, this time I'm told 1-2 weeks... and nothing.

So now I have a new shotgun that I've been unable to shoot for 6 months
Why can't these guys get me a set of screws in 6 months for a brand new ~ $900 shotgun, but S&W can get me replacement screws for a used revolver the same week I call?

Yes, call Bob. Someone managed to take apart a pistol magazine of mine and lost the little locking plate when everything went flying. I emailed FN explaining that I'd have no problem paying a couple bucks for the little plastic part but it wasn't for sale anywhere and buying a new magazine or rebuild kit would be silly. Bob emailed me back the next day saying he'd just send it, showed up 2 days later.

You must be thinking of Colt or KAC

Too bad Glock doesnt make shot guns. If they did you know they would work everytime.

FYI- first one to through Glock in the conversation!

I spoke to the FNH reps at the NRA police nationals in 2009 about reversing the safety because I'm lefthanded and why the forward sling loop was small than the rear. They had nothing. They didn't even know the safety was reversible. The sling loop issue was not limited to my gun...all their SLP's had two different sized swivles. WTF??? over.

On the other hand I mentioned to the Benelli guys I needed a new ghost ring front sight post....they rumaged around one of their bins and apoligized for only having night sights and would I accept the upgrade...ah yeah, free night sights....that's service.

Thanks for the suggestion of contacting Bob, well206 and Merc1138! I'll give that a shot.

Thanks to the rest of you jokers for throwing your favorite manufacturer in the thread as well

I think if they told me three weeks for screws I would grab my keys and head to the local nut and bolt. Pick some up for about $1.00 maybe $2.00 for grade 8. Don't think I could wait months to shoot for a couple screws. Shame on them for blowing you off. Call up Ababa Nut and Bolt. Guaranteed they have them.
