Decal Tape

Does anyone know what the decal tape (sand and rubber) are made from? Does 3M make the product?

I'd like to make a decal for my slide on my Glock and would like to use something permanent or as permanent as can be.

3M makes the rubber type that looks like rough thick sand paper. I get mine in strips at a hardware store in santa ana called McFadden dale off edinger and the 55 freeway for like 68 cents per foot. I use it on my front strap on my 1911 and is the same stuff vendors sell for 8$ for like 2 inches of it. I love it. Would be perfect size for a Glock slide. I cut mine to fit my 1911 and have enough left over to do like 4 more guns. All for under a buck. Hasn't peeled off yet. I used a blow dryer to get it extra sticky befor applying.

It comes black in about an inch thick roll and you cut it per length you want, I think they sell wider sizes too.

I use the stuff they cover skateboards. Went to a local skateboard shop and they gave me enough scraps to cover dozens of guns...no charge, except for an "appreciation" gift from me

Added: If you're using that gun for competition in USPSA Production...grip tape on the slide isn't legal.

They have a lot of different sizes there. I got some reflective/hazard strips cut to length with a yellow stripe to cover my rocker panel guards after my foot slipped off it getting something out of my roof rack, and busting my a.ss on the ground. Sorry for the bad pic and the dirt/mud makes it hard to see.

Yeah, this isn't my competition gun. I've noticed several shortfalls in the design of this pistol when it comes to tactical shooting, so I'm addressing these.
