I've had mine about two years and wear them all day long on the weekends as a RO. They great muffs and tough as well.
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap.

Sordin. Zero disappointments. They do a sweet job with great/adjustable amplifaction as well as seamless attenuation when the gun goes bang. I'd recommend you a pair on your head before you decide to spend the money

I have two pairs. A bit bulky when shooting some rifles but other than that they are great. Use them with everything from my 22's to my 50BMG.

those things are way too bulky for me...I have the howard leight impact sports electronic muffs and they are very slim, work well, and only cost like $60 shipped...

I found out about them on snipershide....it seems everyone is switching over to them

Hanko, do you double up with the Sordins? Because it seems NRR 26 on their own wouldn't be enough for an indoor range.
With pistols, including a couple of Casuls, no. With cf rifles, yes except for .223. I use foamies. I get a hearing test yearly and shoot a lot, last years test said my hearing was in top 5% of people my age.

I can't help you with any experience in an indoor range; gun club is .22lr max. on the indoor range, 99% of indoor shooters are nra or olympic bulleye competitors...different than in most prk ranges. All long gun and serious pistol shooting is outside.

Might be interesting to see if I can sense 3dB difference in attenuation. I still think you should check out the sordin's; I'd appreciate your comments.

They certainly win in the sexy category, and i like how you can get 600 hours out of the batteries, that beats anyone else by a mile. The waterproof battery compartments sound like they're much better than the Pro Ears. I also like the automatic shutoff, as i'm sure i'd forget to turn them off half the time.

The 7db different between the Sordins and the Pro Ears is what has me in a quandry.

I haven't worn them near 600 hours up to now, but batteries are original. Obviously prudent to bring spare batteries for anything you have that uses a battery. Automatic shutoff has helped me more than a few times

I have both the Sordins and the Pro Ears you are looking at. The Sordins are all the way around a better product (not NRR electronics but craftmanship, durability and profile) BUT for me they do not give enough protection for a crowded indooor range or a crowded outdoor rifle range with a lot of big caliber rifles or shottys. The Pro-ears have the highest NRR for any electronic ear muff and work well very well indoors and out but they are really bulky.

Sort of depends on where you shoot.

Yes-- you are spot on. I use the Sordins when I know the noise will be at a minimum-- usually at an uncrowded outdoor pistol only range or when I hunt (due to how weather resistant they are). But it I could only afford one I'd get the Pro-ears just becasue they are good to go in any enviornment.

**Edited to add I PM'd you with more detailed specs.
