Doesn't matter if the bad guys were armed or not. If you can get a jury to believe that the store owner had a reasonable fear of his life, he was justified in pulling the trigger.

Sounds like the owner should have followed up with the secon two "S's". He got the first S right. Ok, I'm joking.

Bad news today, was told Jason was charged with MURDER because the attempted thieves were unarmed. Possibly an 'inside job" but the info lid is on now. He's out on bail...employees are back to work but the cases are empty and furniture is still outside. New glass and carpeting is in. They are open to purchase/pawn items and take payments only. Sad news.

One person against multiple "unarmed" suspects can still get you dead. Murder my ***! Thats f'ed up! Hope it works out for him and he's got a good lawyer. Sounds like the DA is just bein' a shicken-chit cuz he doesn't wanna seem un-PC by ruling the shooting of a black man as justified, so he'll run the poor guy thru the wringer and pass the buck to a judge at a pretrial hearing or a jury knowing the guy will get cut loose for lack of evidence. Which in an of itself should be considered false arrest / malicious prosecution.

About the shooter: it's brutal for a "civilian" (or anyone) to deal with that point of no return in a crisis situation, to make the decision to pull the trigger. Must be a total panic.

Then to deal with (shot someone) the regret of taking a life, whether justified or not, you can't help having emotions. I hear guys talking about how "tough" they are - and how they wouldn't hesitate...but it's a pretty bad ordeal that stays with you for a lifetime.

the other is a pharmacy where dude brought a airsoft gun to rob the place again and got deaded.

the san juan jewelry store sounds like the op'sstory. it also sounds like a very good shoot, although my heart goes out to the families of all involved.

Seriously? These people were the victim of an armed robbery and he is questioning that the victims feared for their lives? Also, how about the police officer reads the penal code to learn that even lowly civillians can use deadly force to stop a felony in progress?

word i got from one of the deputies that was there is, it was considered a justifiable shooting and the owner will not be charged.
