Shipping Question

I'm trying to make a deal to sell a shotgun to someone in Sacto and I am in the IE. His FFL is telling him he needs it to come from a FFL with a form of some kind due to a new law.

I thought I could just ship it to his FFL and be done. This is getting too complicated.

What is the requirement?

If it does come by FFL then it needs a CFLC letter. You can ship direct to a FFL legally but some FFL require the gun come from another FFL. It is up to the receiving FFL to decide.

Recently bought a handgun here and the seller shipped it directly to my FFL.

You may have a legal right to ship it directly to a FFL, however the receiving FFL has the ultimate right to accept or refuse the shipment. Many prefer to receive only from an FFL to prevent being stuck with the gun if there is a legal or transaction hangup

Use a different FFL who will accept the gun from you. It can be done fairly easily.
