    SIG 229 BTFO SIGHT PROBLEMS

After firing a 100 rounds through my .357 sig 229, the front fiber tubular optic green insert, fell out. It managed to work its way out. Is this typical of these sights? Any suggestions to preventing a repeat performance?Name: TRUGLO BTFO.jpg Views: 0 Size: 94.1 KB

Mine fell out during a steel match. I haven't sent it back to Sig for another yet though.

It's very common with the TFO sights in general. You could use epoxy, clear glue, or clear nail polish to help hold it in.

I'm not familar with TFOs, but with other fiber optic sights I just cut the fiber optic to length, then lightly melt each end with a lighter taking care not to burn the FO, and lightly press flat each end. I change mine out every year or so when it gets dark due to oils and stuff, it never falls out unless I cut it in half to get it out.
