Who can do this type of work on a barrel?

I received a Lone Wolf barrel with a package I bought, but I don't like the logo on the top of the barrel. What type of machine shop, or would a smith be able to remove the huge black wolf logo on the barrel?

My main concern is that it feels engraved into it. Unless they can just shave it down to make it smooth and the profile being slightly lower, I would think it needs to be filled in and then grinded down.

Any ideas or has somebody done this before?

    Here's what I have now....

This is what I want it to look like...

Go down to Harbor Freight and get a 4 sided diamond hone about 13 dollars. Rub the area you want removed around on the hone and it will be gone in a few minutes without any welding or machine work. Then sharpen all your knifes.

I'd want to get rid of it too - that is rather ugly and a terrible drawing of a wolf. It looks more like a weird Disney character. It doesn't look too deep - possibly you can sand it away just enough to polish it when done. Or possibly, instead of removing any material, etch, laser, peen, or engine turn the area, much like inking over an ugly tattoo.

you can probably sand it down with sandpaper and a wood block. its not that deep.

It feels deep enough to where my finger can go into the ridges pretty easily. And sanding it down may take more effort than I'm wanting to put in . But I may give it a try tomorrow, but I also don't want to make it worse than it is by trying to sand it down and it doesn't come close to working out.

did you try talking with Lone wolf? they just might offer their products without their logo or put whatever you want there.

I'm not looking to buy another barrel. I already received this particular barrel in a slide package, and I don't plan on using it unless I get rid of the eye-sore logo.

I just tried this with 60 grit sand paper on a wood block. Worked it for a good 10 minutes before giving up. All it did was make the logo lighter looking, but it was still engraved in there pretty good.

I think I need some type of grinder to really dig into it and to smooth out the surface. I found one shop that will do it for a decent price that's nearby me, so I'm going to try and check it out this week.

I never liked it on mine either. They do offer plain ones or custom logos, or black barrels.

Seems kind of over done for a company logo. I just gave up and shot it the way it came.
