we want shall issue & Brown wants a budget

I am not a fan of increased taxes and the republicans have held firm. I noticed Brown vetoed the budget today and said he would "move heaven and earth" to resolve the budget. I would be more than happy for a quid pro quo in which CA passes a law making CA a shall issue state and Brown gets his tax increase. I'd imagine even the republicans might go along with this. Am I the only one who sees a win win here? Anything we can do to push this trade?

I understand Yugo that its our right and we shouldn't have to compromise. I just see an opportunity that can lead to a quick change. Also, it just seems like by doing this each side walks away with something they'd really like to have.

Bad idea. CA is broke because of this mentality.

Raising taxes will not make CA a more appealing place to live or have a business.

Once JB realizes he is out of options, he'll have to pick the right one and reduce spending.

If you started to make real money in this state, would you want to give away most of it to people that don't work? Keep your future options open.

How about banning unions for government workers and forcing counties to comply?

I dont think a shall-issue bill could be introduced at this late date could it? It'd have to have gone thru the various committees first wouldn't it? Is there a process to skip the committees?

ETA: Or would adding it as an ammendment to a bill that's already gone thru committee by-pass the committee process?

FWIW, I did email Gov Brown and the NRA ILA with this idea. I thought there would be more folks liking this idea. I pay more than my fair share of taxes to CA and certainly don't like paying more. However, I really would like a CCW.
