    NorCal Bay Area shooting clubs?

I am just getting in to rifle shooting and I have been to Metcalf and Sunnyvale Rod and Gun Club. I was looking online at the membership cost and benefits at these different shooting ranges to see if there is a benefit of signing up instead of just paying each time I go? Anyone belong to one of the clubs or have any experience? Thanks

I can't give you info on the membership part since I have yet to join one. But I do know from people here and in real life that having the membership gives you access to stuff "normals" don't get like discounts and shooting on days that the range is normally "closed". A buddy of mine is a member up at Los Altos and we get to go with him during the week when the place is either empty or very lightly used mostly by members.

Yea, with membership most offer free shooting. I checked out Sunnyvale Rod and Gun Club and with their member ship you get extended shooting days and times as well as no charge on the range. Initial fee is like $250 then $50 annual.

I wanted to join Sunnyvale Rod and Gun in order to be able to shoot during closed to public hours etc. The problem for me is you are expected to provide time doing all types of range duty (construction, cleanup, etc.) in order to maintain your membership. This is time I do not have. Wish I did as I'd love to be a member. Don't know about other ranges.

It says you only need to do 20 hours a year if I read correctly
