Whats the beef with Paypal on CGN?

    Hello,

Recently I started selling some stuff I no longer need in the for sale section. Well, I got a couple buyers, but it seems like everyone on CGN won't deal with Paypal, I guess because they have an anti firearm policy.

I just don't get it, I buy firearms related crap all the time, even on ebay with my paypall account! It's much more secure then sending money orders in the mail, and if you get ripped off, it's really easy to file a claim.

I have no beef with people sending me money orders or whatever, just curious to know what the deal is. They've never denied me a purchase, despite their 'policy'. Methinks maybe it's just for show so the liberals can have their cake and eat it? I mean afterall, they are a business, and money is money.

It's because buyers and sellers have been screwed with paypal's anti gun policies. Yes, you can buy some gun related things via paypal, but have fun trying to buy ammunition with the transaction description saying what it is, or magazines(transactions get flagged with key words). When that happens, vendors end up getting accounts closed(which can effectively put some people out of business), and paypal treats them like they're accused of arms trafficking to mexico or something with NO means to resolve the issue and re-instate the accounts. As buyers, people end up getting accounts flagged for violations and get warnings(too many and that long standing paypal account you've had goes bye-bye). The fees make it even worse(btw, if you receive enough money via paypal they force you to turn your account into a merchant account while holding your money hostage, then because you're a merchant now you get charged even higher fees), and now they want to report income via paypal as taxable income(even if you're just an individual selling a collection of stuff and not an actual vendor, if you meet their criteria they don't care).

That's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to problems with paypal.

If you use PayPal to buy/sell firearms related items you are violating their terms of service. Sure you could spin the wheel and hope they don't catch you. But if they do, they have spelled out what can happen to you in advance. I know no one but lawyers read the fine print but here are the relevant portions I've highlighted in bold:

I'm not sure if you're trolling, but regardless...

When the item in question is firearms related, try filing a claim and see what they say.

Many people here, myself included, have had their paypal account blocked due to suspected firearms-related transactions. I can show you the emails to prove it.

I was even ultra-careful when logging on to paypal, I would always open a new browser window when logging in to paypal (so that they could not see what site I was coming from) and of course, did not enter any gun-related terms into the transaction. They still snagged my account.

probably because Moress wasn't listing anything that is a firearm term in his paypal transacations? i highly doubt putting "pistol" or "glock" or something in any field/description would miss their scanning process (which is the trick of how you can still use paypal for any 2A related transactions).

Paypal and Ebay are just plain anti-gun. That's the reason.
              Please read the Calguns Wiki
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

No, they are not. E-pay and Paypay are only against firearm parts NOT sold where they get a cut of the profits.

You can sell a magpul Stock on E-pay using paypay, you can't sell that same stock person to person using paypay.

                  its all about the money...

I will like them better if they just provide a service and not their anti-gun opinions. I try my best not to use them if I can.
If I do use them for gun related stuff, I marked the transaction as gift so they don't get any of my money.

I just bought gun some parts through pay pal and my description/comments to the seller clearly had to do with guns. So far everything went through. Should I be worried?

I use them all the time. They are up front about it, and they can run their biz as they like.

I once sold a M48 and the guy paypaled me with Mauser in the memo. My blood ran cold. Nothing happened.
