There was just a lengthy segment on Fox News about this. 1,800 guns went to Mexico, only 700 recovered.

Use the back door, Luke... Google News lets you get full text of WSJ articles -- if you have some keywords to search for.

Go to Google, click on News, paste the headline into the search bar:

Guns From U.S. Probe Surface in Mexico

and the entire article pops up.

This article was poorly written in that it does not clearly establish a BATF time line. The result is that it leaves the impression that BATF simply had a reasonable and prudent operation go wrong. Clearly, that was not the case.

Secondly, it makes a reference to strawman purchases in the southwestern states being a major source of arms to the cartels. The fact is that it's the unusual gun store that has RPG's, granades, or even fully automatic arms on hand for immediate transfer without all that pesky Federal paperwork. Again, the article leaves the wrong impression.

I would hope that someone higher up the food chain would properly respond to this article via the Letters to the Editor column.

And then there's this shocking news story from CBS.

AK-47 type weapons from "Fast and Furious" case turn up in unrelated case in Phoenix
