    Lubrication and cleaning without petroleum

Close your eyes and imagine with me for a moment.

It's 2070. The World As We Know It has ended. Unlike in The Road Warrior, most people are too busy growing food to bother with drilling for oil. Petroleum products have all been used up, although you might still have plastic things, like the UBR stock on the AR-15 you inherited from your grandfather.

What do you clean and lube your gun with?

(Assume for the sake of argument that the recipe for FrogLube is either lost, or a closely guarded secret of Master-Blaster in Bartertown, and you're too proud to pay his scalper-level prices.)

Ballistol-Klever Oil. Made from Camelia plants it is probably what people will be using if there is oil based products become too dang expensive. Never used it myself, but have heard good things.

Find some junked cars laying around and punch some holes in the oil pan.
