    Thompson Contender Question...

Picked up my Contender from the FFL Friday, scored one with a .357 8 inch oct. barrel along with .223 14" bull, and 30/30 10" bull for $675. Then just won a another receiver tonight for $180 on gunbroker. Shot a friend of mine's about a month ago and decided I gotta get one.

Went to the range for 5 hours today and put 100 rounds through the .223 hitting oranges at 150 yds after I got the scope sighted (NC Star 4x32 Leupold mount). Also put 10 rounds through the 30/30 and that hurts need to change the grips, and the .357 Mag shot straight as hell at 50 with the iron sights.

    Question's I have are:
    1) Does anyone have a pic of a Harris bi-pod mount on a 14" bull. Thinking about putting one on the .223.

    2) And does anyone have issues when your locked and loaded, and the hammer stops about 1/8 inch from the firing pin? Only happens with my
30/30. Somtimes it works but it seems not to be catching and doing a complete cocking fuction. Probably take the barrel to a gunsmith because it isn't the receiver. This is believed to be what i see and someone suggested the barrel lock is not going to full lock and the safety lock out is not letting the hammer block fall out of the way.

So can anyone recommend a good gunsmith in the Corona / Inland Empire that may be able to correct. Going to check with TC also.

I had the same issue on a new 6.8spc barrel and an old TC receiver. The locking lugs edges where catching on the frame and not fully engaging. I took a stone and rounded the outside edges and it fixed the issue compleltely. If you pop out the trigger mech and look what is happening you will see exactly what is hanging the locking lugs up.
