Does anyone have experience shipping ammo overseas cheaply? UPS, FEDEX, and DHL all want to charge hundreds of dollars to ship some 9mm ammo, more than the ammo costs, and they will accept these shipments only from shippers with accounts. I don't have any account with them, and I don't want to spend $400 to ship $250 worth of ammo.
Also, anyone flew through Tokyo airport with ammo before? From what I've read, international regulations allow up to 5 Kg of ammo in your checked luggage, but if you have a stop in Tokyo in transit to the final destination and will have to pick up the checked baggage, would this be a no-go?
