Shipping Rifle Question

I own a rifle which is currently sitting with my parents in another state. Since the rifle is mine, can I disassemble it, pack it in a box and ship it to myself during my next visit? This was given to me many many years ago by my grandfather and I have not had an opportunity to get it back here in California.

Can my dad pack it in a box and send it to me before my next visit?

I do not think it matters, but it is an old Hamilton Model 27. And I find this, if it even matters: "All Hamilton 27’s have long since been exempted from the NFA. And of course all qualify as “Curio & Relic” guns by virtue of age."

if it already belongs to you, no problem.However, this model is UNSAFE with hi speed ammo and standard vel. 22rimfire is hard to get these days.It's a great C & R collectors item, as all were made prior to 1941.Read "American Boys rifles", if you can afford a copy, it's not cheap, but a great book.

You can ship or mail long guns to yourself but you dad cannot ship it to you without going through an FFL on the receiving end.

It is an old C&R which already belongs to me.

Ok so which is it now? Since is already is mine can I have him package it and send it without a problem, or, he can not ship it to me without going through an FFL?

If not, I will package it and ship it on my next visit.
