I love my XD's. They are so easy to clean!

M1911's are more accurate, but if I had a cookie for each time I bungled the re-assembly I'd be very plump. Wait. Nevermind.

Cleaning guns is just another aspect that I enjoy, but if I do do it, I have to set aside time for it.

To me, it's a more 'relaxing' experience. I like to sit in my room, turn on some pandora, and clean get my guns. If I'm in a rush tho, I can do it in about a 1/3 of the time, but I hate doing it. It feels more like a job when I'm in a hurry rather then a relaxing experience.

I don't know why, but for some reason, I don't like cleaning my SKS. My Garand is more complicated to fully clean, but I enjoy cleaning that more then my SKS. Maybe 'cause I enjoy putting all those little parts back together in the Garand, I'm kind of a nut for any sort of mechanical thing.

No inbreeding the XD with the Glock. You keep those two apart or you'll end up with an M&P somethingorother.

Haha, that's probably true

I will say this for my SKS tho, it requires much less attention then my M1, especially since the damn sights on mine keep coming loose and I have to tighten them up often. Also, the gas plug starts to come unscrewed after a while as well.
