Lets not forget that dealing with gun idiots is enough to make anyone grumpy. I have been to Turners and the amount of noob in that store is unreal. I hear so much FUD it kind of make my stomach sick. I now walk in with earplugs in, pick up my primers and leave quickly as possible.

Retail is retail. You are there to help the customers and, if need be, educate them about what they are doing. In order to educate them you should at least know what the heck you were talking about.

And how much knowledge do you expect them to have? Lawyer and engineer level? I don't like the fact that Turner's employees are not up to date or know the regulations correctly, but instead of taking the chance to improve the situation, throwing snide remark probably won't help.

Retail is retail, but when you have to deal with customers everyday who have little idea and think they know but they don't, it starts to drain you. That's why I don't like to criticize those who work behind the counter that much.

Exactly, gives off the typical gun owner attitude. I blame both parties but I never have these problems with gun shops and I spend way to much time in them. I always wonder why people have so much trouble with gun store employees. You have to be knowledgeable and don't depend on them. Do your homework so to speak.

I worked at Turner's Norwalk in the early 90's...and it's like McDonalds. You have Mgt trying to do the best with what employees they have. There's always a wide mix of workers. Out of 20, a few with good knowledge and skills, a lot of "average" guys and more than some idiots. Unfortunately minimum wage, or slightly above means the good workers go on to better things. That leaves the jokers to be the majority.

I applied and interviewed 6 or so years ago for an assistant manager position, they said that my previous management experience was working with too many people.
