It arrived and appears not to have been opened. But, since it contained 200 starter tabs and a .50cal cleaning jag, I really have to wonder if it was inspected and, if so, I wonder how many spots I climbed on "the list".

Glad you got your stuff.
That tracking device is disturbing, and appears to be a bit old school. How long ago was this?
Tracking devices are not that hard to make. I was buddies with the class geek in HS. He put a homemade device on my Buick and followed me on prom night as a prank. Didn't last to long though. He should have bought better batteries. My radio had a lot of static while it was working. I mentioned it to him the next day. Thats when he started laughing and showed me the device, still under my rear bumper.Comment

Pretty sure they can do a lot better than that bigass clunky device these days....that one was probably just the decoy they wanted you to find so you'd think you're safe. Just think about how accurate the GPS on an iPhone can be and how small that phone is....Your views on any given subject are the sum of the media that you take in, scaled to the weight of the credibility of the source that provides it, seen through a lens of your own values, goals, and achievements.

IIRC, that device was recently (in the last year) found on a Muslim student's car. He posted pics of it online and within a week, the feds were knocking on his door asking for it back.

Same thing happened to me about a year ago when I ordered a shipment of tritium vials for a project. When I took my car to AAMCO two months after to have them check the transmission, they found this attached to my undercarriage. Turns out it's some kind of tracking device.

No way!! That is insane!
I would attach that thing to some taxi just for kicks.NRA Life Member

Since it's not crossing international borders and no crime has occurred (and I can't see where any reasonable suspicion might come from here), can the federal government legally check random packages?DiaHero Foundation - helping people manage diabetes. Yeah, but iPhones didn't exist in 1980's, and the government procurement process takes about 20-something years

Over the years I've had two UPS boxes detained and got this message. Once for for a BB gun that had a thumbhole stock (they thought it was an AW by the silhouette) which was delivered to my house, box opened. They didn't even tape it shut nicely. other time was for a Remington 700 with box magazine and thumb-hole stock. It was eventually delivered to my FFL but it was clear the box was opened before it got to him; he never opened my boxes until I arrived at the store.-----------------------------------------------

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?Comment

BTW, whichever alphabet soup agency is inspecting my started tabs, I want you to know that they are not all for me. I'm giving some to 50BMGBOB next week if y'all can get the little tracking devices installed into the empty links in time. So, ya better make sure that he's on the list too.
Is that Bob to the right of you?
