    Clarification on a PPT

I wanted to see if it's legal to do a ppt on a HK91. The gun is in CA, and I was looking at the flowchart for Calguns, and it says if it was registered as an assualt weapon then would it be legal to own?? Would that mean it'd be able to be transfered or not? Also how do you know if its been registered as one or not before 92?

    -Thanks

If out is an assault weapon by name, then it cannot be transfered, registered or not.

I guess it'd be easier to ask if there is anyway in trasfering it into my name?

HK91 is banned by name, so if the owner at the time of the ban registered it as an assault rifle, then yes it is legal for that person or persons it was registered to, to own it.

And no ,in California it can not be transferred, well that is to us normal folks, it can not even be left to your kids or any one upon the owners death.

It can be delivered to a FFL with an assault rifle license, and they can sell it out of state, and I would imagine, some one correct me if I'm wrong, a FFl with an assault rifle license could probably sell it also to a LEO who has a letter from his/her dept authorizing the purchase?

But if your asking because you want to buy or receive one, and you are a Cali resident who is not LEO, then no, you can not legally acquire one. if you own one and want to sell it, see above, your out of luck selling it in Cali.

Who ever registered it, would have received a letter from the DOJ confirming the registration was accepted, if they dont know, can't imagine that, I'm sure DOJ could let them know, but if they have the HK91 in Cali, they ask the DOJ, and it was not registered, that's a Felony

I do believe there is a form you can file to find out all firearms registered to you in Cali by the DOJ, I would do that rather than inquiring about a specific assault rifle.
