When you purchase a new firearm

What do you do during the 10 day wait, me personally I try to find every video and every article about that firearm I probably watch and read the same articles over and over again.

Does anyone else do that too?

    Yup.

That, and buy accessories. I pick up my wife's Rough Rider tomorrow, the new grips showed up last Tuesday.
I had a set of Mepro sights for the G26 a week before I picked it up.

Yea, me too. I spend WAAAY too much time with guns on the brain and then once I have it in hand and get to shoot it I can quit obsessing so much.

Ya. Same for the Glock. I hadn't had it here for 3 days before I had done the "25 cent trigger job" (and buffed out the feedramps on the XD and 1911 as well). I also installed the longer takedown "lever", but it's still a PITA. I really prefer the takedown procedure for the XD.

I can certainly see how people shoot themselves with their Glock when breaking it down for cleaning. The XD slide must be locked back before the takedown lever will operate, then the slide is released, THEN the trigger is pulled to release the slide from the frame.
The Glock will "release" with only a slight rearward movement, so it can be taken down with a round chambered (until you drop the striker).

            Shop for accessories!

Youtube is always prepurchase unless it was an impulse buy
