    Savage model 24C-N series.

Just picked one up 'for my son' (22lr/20ga). Any enthusiasts on the board? I would like to restore this a bit, and have some questions.

    1. Barrell-park, or blued?
    2. Mine has a straight stock. Was that 'factory'.
    3. Does anyone have images of the buttstock shell holder?

    Thx.

I like the Savage 24. I had a couple but now down to the simple 22/.410. I like the side switch/top tang opening one the best. It's an awesome bunny gun in your typical public land California hunting situation.

The Model 24 came in many variations including straight and pistol grip stocks but all the metal was originally blue.

www.savageshooters.com has a lot of information and knowledgable people on it.

Some good info here too. http://www.savage24.com/

I have three 24's, I WISH I had a camper model. That is the one that eludes me.

          Some butt stock pics:

          Enjoy yours.
